Once again our national attention has turned to politics as the first of the quadrennial political conventions is now well underway. In the true spirit of the principle of freedom and independence upon which CODA was founded, we will be supporting events in both Tampa and Charlotte. We believe that truth and progress comes from discussion/debate. We believe that expression is an important part of our nation’s DNA: Political discussions can be heard from Starbucks to Facebook and pretty much everywhere in between. And we want to share our views on the topics of the day.
While talking about politics, we should not ignore the elephant in the room (or the donkey, to be bi-partisan): everyone has a slightly different view about the way the US should be run. Reflective of the colorful fabric that is the tapestry of our nation, the people in our company have a wide range of political views. But even masterfully intricate tapestries have a common thread as do we as a nation and a company we all agree that we need to make a conscious and deliberate effort to “do the right thing” to help build the future. We are also proud of the fact that we do not sell gas powered vehicles. We are the only mass-market car maker that can make that claim.
Our mission is about energy, the environment, and job creation, helping make the country stronger and self-reliant. Energy needs to be used wisely before it is all used up, and driving a CODA is a great way to conserve our natural resources. To ENDependence on foreign oil, electric vehicles like ours need to be part of the strategy and therefore part of the solution. An electric car can go 20 miles on the energy it takes to just refine and deliver a single gallon of gas, so we say skip the refinery, wave goodbye to gas stations and drive electric. “And in our world, A gallon saved is a gallon earned,” to paraphrase Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers.
Another desirable result of getting around in an electric car is reduced pollution and reduced environmental degradation. With no tailpipe there is no exhaust and therefore no unhealthy emissions—isn’t this what you want for our planet, and around your family and home? It is an easy way to make your own world cleaner and greener
We do know that the electricity used by the car has to come from somewhere. It turns out that it is cleaner to use fossil fuels to make electricity and then use that electricity to drive cars than it is to use fossil fuels to drive the car in the first place. It is even better to use renewable resources (solar, hydro and wind, for example) to provide electricity for transportation.
CODA also uses homegrown technology, much of it actually developed in-house, here in Southern California. Our battery chemistry was developed at the University of Texas, and our electric motor and the parts that control it were developed in Colorado, other major systems come from Michigan and other parts of the US. Our technology has allowed us to build the longest range vehicle in our class (based on real world testing and EPA ratings), and offer the longest battery warranty (10 years or 100,000 miles).
To sum it up, we offer something for everyone. We are a no-compromise solution to making the planet greener and ending dependence on foreign oil. And we do all of that while saving you money. What a great country we live in!
Another thing that makes our country great is your chance to participate in how it is run. You hold the country’s future in your hands, so Plug-In and VOTE!

First - Yes! Get out and VOTE whoever your preferred candidate is!
Second - how can I get my CODA delivered to my hometown here in Louisiana? What need I do to open a dealership?
