Enterprise Rent-A-Car said Wednesday it will put 100 Coda electric sedans into its fleet next year, complementing the 500 Nissan Leaf electric cars the company already has on order
Coda Automotive is a start-up company that will deliver its first $44,900 electric cars to customers in its home state of California “in three to four months,” said its president and chief executive, Kevin Czinger. The five-passenger Coda car, with its own co-developed 33.8-kilowatt-hour battery pack, starts life in China but receives final assembly in Benicia, Calif. Mr. Czinger said the Coda would achieve real-world range of 90 to 100 miles on a charge.
Enterprise, which has a fleet of 1 million cars and trucks and 7,600 rental outlets worldwide including all company brands, is already in business with Coda, because earlier this year the rental company agreed to supply courtesy cars to (future) Coda owners whose cars are being serviced.
